Ordinary Things

Our assignment from a recent meeting of the Faith Club Circle at church was to photograph ordinary things in our day for the next 24 hours.  In order to share my ordinary things with my Faith Club friends, I am uploading to this blog post.  Be forewarned.  My day was very ordinary, but I am happy about that.  I am truly blessed and take great comfort in the ordinary things of my life.
On my way home from Faith Club, I
stopped at the library to pick up the next book
for my book discussion group and at the market
for a lime.

When I returned home from Faith Club, the library
and the market, there was laundry to tackle.  Recently,
I made my own laundry detergent.  I love it!  Small things,
like the smell of my clean laundry, make me smile.

There were some cards to write for
upcoming occasions.  I have a
spiral card organizer to store
cards as I buy them in advance.  This
means I do not misplace these.
I was planning to do some baking.  This
is my new favorite apron.  Since I
sew, I have a nice assortment of colorful,
fun aprons.  This one makes me feel
SASSY!!
This photo was not taken within the
24 hour ordinary things photo event,
but I wanted to post it here.   We had
the blessing of a getaway week of relaxation.
This is Len doing a little surf fishing while
we walked on the beach.
Haha.  No, I am not getting ready to drink this brew.
Actually, I am getting ready to bake Guiness Beer Bread.
It was delicious with the Vegetable Beef Soup I made for supper.

Jenny and Rob Are Married

As promised, a blog post of wedding photos.  On November 22, 2013, Jenny and Rob were married!  What a wonderful day of family celebration.   I have an album of my favorites and a flash drive with lots of wedding photos, but I will choose a few to blog.

Photo Disappearance and 2013 Recap

Thanksgiving 2013
Len's 40th Reunion weekend at West Point

Have you ever felt technology was smarter than you?  That is how I feel after seeing my blog photos disappear in the blink of an eye (or click of a smartphone button).  It seems, my new smartphone is too smart for me.  When I first started using the phone,  all of a sudden I had over 500 photos on my phone.  Of course, I did not want those on the phone, so I deleted each one.  I had no idea the phone was syncing with my computer (and my blog) to delete photos from the blog.  I am slowly adding back the photos I can, but decided that may never happen entirely.  Life happens.

I was not the best blogger in 2013, so I decided to do a bit of a photo recap of the year with a few select happenings.

Cooling off in the pool
Visiting Maybury Farm
Boat ride on Father's Day
Key Deer on our Little Torch Key vacation.
Emily made Elmo cupcakes for Darius'
Half Birthday.

There was a trip to the Michigan Fiber
Fest in August with some knitting friends.
Jenny and Rob were married on November 22nd.  This event needs a
blog post all it's own.  More photos to follow.
