Presto Baby Hat IS Presto!

Yesterday morning this baby hat was just a project-to-be. This morning it is a finished baby hat. Yesterday evening I cast on the Presto Baby Hat and knitted some on it. This morning I finished it and here is Little Emily modeling the adorable, soft baby hat.

Here is the baby hat without the model.

After Tax Season Knitting

My knitting definitely slows down during tax season. Now that tax season is finished, my life is returning to some normalcy. First order of business after tax season was to sew 29 heavy-duty tote bags for school kits for a mission project at our church. Other folks from within the congregation are purchasing the school supplies that will fill these bags. I wanted to make a variety of bags and here they are. The photo may not look like 29 bags, but it is. There are 3 or 4 of most of the colors.

Way back in August 2007, I purchased some hand-dyed yarn (merino/nylon blend) at the Allegan Sheep and Wool festival from Ellen's Half Pint Farm.

Here is that yarn in the process of becoming socks for me.

I also have a prayer shawl on the needles that has been on said needles for way too long. I have finally cut the fringe and started the third skein so the end is in sight. It also helps that I have pulled this out and been knitting on it more than just at the monthly evening prayer shawl knitting with friends. Once a month was just not going to finish this shawl. The yarn is LB Homespun in "candy apple".

This morning while reading email, I was attracted to two little patterns and just happen to have some stash to try them out. So, here are two balls of yarn and the items they may soon become.

The multi-colored yarn on the left is Lana Grossa Cotofilo and will be used for the Presto! Baby Hat.

On the right, is a ball of Lana Grossa Dandy that may become the Speckled Eyelet Scarf. The pattern is available at

The weather is absolutely gorgeous so I am off to take a walk as soon as I pull a loaf of banana bread out of the oven. Ahhhhh, I love being back home.
